DAY 1.

Hà Giang City - Du Già Village

Hà Giang City - Du Già Village

  • 7:30: Breakfast with coffee, tea, fruit and bread.
  • Tour briefing: Remember to prepare a suitable backpack and leave your large luggage here; we have free luggage storage. Don’t forget essential items like a thick jacket in winter, gloves, sunscreen, sunglasses, swimwear, or mosquito repellent in the rainy season (June–August). If you’re missing anything, don’t worry – contact us in advance and we’ll prepare it for you.

*Important note: Make sure your most important personal items like passport, phone, charger, wallet are always in a secure travel pouch with zipper close to your body – not in your pants pocket. No need to worry about theft or irretrievable loss; however, we should avoid creating unnecessary risks.

  • 8:30: Let’s hit the road, Horizon fighting cock squadron!!!! Time to start conquering this once-in-a-lifetime trip, guys!
Depart early to make the most of the day. The Ha Giang Loop is about the roads and the journey itself, not the boring formalities of traditional tours.
  • After the first kilometers on the main road, we will leave the noise and chaos behind. By turning onto a small local road, we start enjoying the discovery of Hà Giang’s original face – whose lonely, mysterious beauty we proudly compare to the Andes or Himalayas, like the last solitary paradises detached from this increasingly rushed and chaotic world. You will experience it with all your senses and heartbeat. Especially the 20 km motorbike ride through the primary forest in the border area with China.
  • Passing through remote border villages, vast grasslands suddenly open up on the horizon.
  • From the top of the 1,300 m mountain range, admire the grandeur of the landscape with lush green valleys and rolling mountains in gentle sunlight mixed with thin mist.

After descending into the valley, continue toward the natural wonder known as Fairy Bosom Mountain – a huge, firm natural bosom, no Botox or implants needed. Come on, who are you thinking of – Monroe, Scarlett Johansson or Sydney Sweeney?

12:00 – 12:30 First lunch at our restaurant. Fresh local food and a varied menu will delight your taste buds. You can also have beer if you ride behind our easy rider.

After lunch, explore a traditional village famous for hand-woven linen products. Observe the exquisite weaving process, interact with local artisans, and buy authentic handicrafts as souvenirs.

  • Admire the panoramic view of the lush Đông Hà valley and the majestic opposite mountain range from a viewpoint high on the mountainside, with the river sparkling in golden sunlight winding through the endless green valley. The scenery here on sunny days or cloudy days will leave you speechless – it’s like a painting, as if created by a drunk Claude Monet. Yes, I’m not exaggerating and I don’t want to take back my praise!
  • Still on quiet mountain-top local roads, crossing altitudes of 1,700 m – true to our name: beyond the horizon. And what’s more satisfying than admiring heavenly light pouring down on majestic mountains and rivers while leisurely looking down at the crowded convoys squeezing each other on the big road below, which has no impressive scenery except the noise of horns and engines. This place feels reserved just for us!
  • A super epic viewpoint with dramatic mountain ranges on both sides and a narrow valley in between. You don’t realize you’re very close to the highest peak of the Ha Giang Loop at 2,200 m. It can be seen from dozens of kilometers away on clear days from many parts of the loop. And 100% of travel companies in Hà Giang don’t know about it; you won’t find any info on Vietnamese travel websites either.
  • The valley below we call “420 ROAD”. You get it, right? You know what you know, bro! This was once the H’mong kingdom in the 18th century, even before the H’mong kingdoms in Đồng Văn and Mèo Vạc. Cross it and breathe the “fresh, pure” air!
  • Highlight of the day: Lũng Hồ mountain sunset viewpoint!
A natural landscape with grasslands, terraced fields, rocky mountains and winding small roads.
  • Watch the sun slowly set over the jagged peaks like dinosaur teeth in Lũng Hồ valley. From here, looking down at the overlapping mountain ranges in the sunset, you will fully feel the answer to the meaning of travel: discovering new lands and enjoying the beauty of the existential world at the moment day and night meet somewhere on this planet.
  • Entering Du Già area, where the mountains have bizarre shapes like on another planet. You heard right – not only Karakoram, Alaska or Patagonia have strange peaks; the Ha Giang Loop also reveals “alien traces” right before your eyes.
  • Homestay in Du Già with a pool overlooking rice fields and sunset over the mountain range.

7:00 p.m: Warm dinner with special organic local food; raise a glass of happy water with new friends. Karaoke and dancing time – the place to release fatigue after a long day on the motorbike. Don’t hesitate, be yourself: a person who loves Hà Giang and has come to this land.

Day 2.

Du Già Village - Đồng Văn ( 100Km )

Du Già Village - Đồng Văn ( 100Km )

  • 8 AM: Light breakfast with fresh cool mountain breeze gently blowing
  • 9 AM Departure, first stop is a hilltop on the pass overlooking the entire gorge, mountain ranges and surrounding villages
  • Local small roads on the mountainside “Horizon path 50-50 “ that you must experience during the trip explore Ha Giang Loop with Horizon fighting cock crew
At the top is a super-class viewpoint looking down layer upon layer of mountain ranges all the way to China and endless terraced fields at your feet
  • Tourist activity: bamboo rafting along the crystal-clear stream with lush green trees on both banks, then entering an impressive limestone cave – prepare your swimwear and warm up before jumping into the cool water to avoid cramps

12:30: Hearty lunch at a large restaurant in Mậu Duệ – if you’re sleepy, order a Vietnamese-style coffee bean with condensed milk to recharge for the million-dollar afternoon!

  • Desolate valley with only rocks and grass, sharply pointed mountains like cat ears making the scene extremely eerie and fascinating, the road only bearing footprints of locals. An image that once seen you will never forget – the signature of Ha Giang Loop: silent, stoic people with huge baskets on their backs full of goods or enormous bundles of firewood. They walk alone in the setting sun or in freezing winter with light rain. Them or us – who truly enjoys the joy and beauty of this world?
  • Conquer Mã Pí Lèng Pass with the first highlight being the café on top of the 1,650 m peak: first ride the motorbike almost to the top, then walk up stone steps and the ridge path like a mini Great Wall to reach the café. Chilling time with drinks and divine panoramic view: gorge, river, peaks and dappled afternoon sunlight on the slopes… etc…
  • Another panoramic angle back toward the café, the river and sheer cliffs on both banks
  • Huge valley thousands of meters deep with the tiny river below like a thread, and on the other side the border with China
  • Golden hour at one of the most beautiful sunset spots on Ha Giang Loop. Here we have towering sharp peaks like giant unicorn horns creating magic when sunset light shines through the mountain gaps down to the vast gorge below filled with pine forests, grass carpets and layer upon layer of terraced fields
  • Check-in at a super beautiful and airy homestay, enjoy a few cold draft beers before the cozy dinner
  • Dinner is a change of experience, especially perfect for the chilly highland night in this remote border area: hotpot, a dish popular in Southeast Asia and China
  • 17:00:  Check-in at the homestay.

Free time: Party and karaoke or stroll around Đồng Văn old town, shopping and join activities at the central square. Especially local cultural performances at the lobby of Phố Cổ Café – the first café in this town, a beautiful ancient house.

Đồng Văn - Yên Minh ( 100Km )

Đồng Văn - Yên Minh ( 100Km )

  • 8 AM: Breakfast at the homestay with gentle morning sunlight filtering through curtains sparkling on your steaming coffee cup
  • 9 AM: Departure, conquer a small but extremely impressive pass – only 7 km but with 50 hairpin turns and viewpoints over the gorge and river… The scenery will leave you speechless at Mother Nature’s wonder
  • Rainy day backup plan: Explore a mysterious large cave with high dome ceiling and delicate white stalactites, like Milan Cathedral. A thin mist covers the entrance, creating a fairyland completely separate from reality
  • Let’s gooo. Extreme North Vietnam here we come, squadron!
  • Visit an ancient H’mong village in the valley near the town
  • Area of the Black Lô Lô people, a special ethnic group with unique costumes and identity. Most special is their migration history – they are thousand-year descendants of Tibetans from the Qinghai-Tibet plateau next to the roof of the world

Here it is, welcoming the crew to the Lũng Cú Flagpole, the northernmost point of Vietnam !!!
We are ruling the peak in both meanings: the peak of Vietnam’s map with 106 million people – and the peak of 4-dimensional space (Tibetans have one more dimension – the spiritual one)

Why rush? Why not take a few selfies as a memento with the Vietnamese flag in such a special place like this!

  • Via small road visit a secret sky-touching point, standing on the narrow cliff road right next to the clouds. Where the thousand-meter deep gorge, the river as blue as the Mediterranean sky illegally entering Vietnam from China! And two huge wild sheer cliffs standing erect like your hair in front of this breathtaking scene!
  • Don’t forget to interact with the children with innocent eyes, the young ones helping parents carry firewood, herd cows, grow vegetables, the elders weaving and knitting in front of time-worn houses.Remember, Ha Giang Loop is world-famous not only for its majestic scenery, the free-spirited feeling on motorbike, the fiery happy water – but also for the local people like characters from the novel The Lost Horizon describing the earthly paradise Shangri-La, separated from our busy, endlessly struggling world!

They live leisurely and slowly like immortals – don’t hesitate, don’t be shy, approach the old gods and beautiful little angel for a photo together !

12 PM: A wonderful morning on top of Vietnam, now time to feed the stomach. The local restaurant is ready waiting. Cold weather – don’t forget a hot ginger honey tea, sunny weather – don’t forget a barley juice can, bro

Sảng Tủng stone desert with wide panoramic view of the stone desert – both majestic and truly depicting the hardship of survival on the Đồng Văn – Mèo Vạc limestone plateau
Dinosaur spine where you get a super cool photo angle – don’t forget to capture this moment and make everyone on Instagram jealous!

  • Large mountain blocks and narrow valleys covered with grass and temperate forests, below are peaceful ancient houses scattered among small gardens. Photo time! Frames reminiscent of Lauterbrunnen in Switzerland or Stryx in Norway – but still very very Hà Giang
  • Another secret cliff-top viewpoint where you can get lifetime motorbike footage and leisurely walk on the road among thousands of clouds
  • Visit Anaconda Pass (Nine Turn Pass), Thắng Cố Slope (Thẩm Mã Slope) – famous Ha Giang tourist spots. The story behind why we give them these fun local names – wait until then, your tour guide will tell you
  • Vần Chải stone book, where countless peaks rise from a large mountainside like the hunchback of Quasimodo in The Hunchback of Notre-Dame. Visit a H’mong family making khèn – a typical H’mong male instrument made from small bamboo sections similar to Native American pan flute.
In the fading sunset, dim light performs natural shadow art on both sides of the peaks creating dramatic contrast like Michelangelo’s sculptures
  • Homestay right in the town center down there. Our last night at a super convenient homestay, central location but with green fields and towering mountains on the side, swimming pool, bar and big draft beer always ready!

Drink to get drunk for this final night – 4 days isn’t too short, but the moments are fully stored in your device memory cards and in the emotional memory of every member

19:00: Joint the big dinner and Loop Party at the homestay, drink more happy water to liven up the atsmosphere and sing, dance to celebrate Unforgetable Crazy Trip. We still have few more exciting things if you have enough battery !

DAY 4.

Yên Minh - Hà Giang City

Yên Minh - Hà Giang City

· 08:30 AM Breakfast with local cakes made from glutinous rice flour and wheat flour. Light but enough energy for the final day of the journey.

· 09:00 AM Start conquering the last day of Ha Giang Loop. Let’s go!

· Conquer Cán Tỷ Pass – a pass only about 20 km long but one of the most winding national roads in Vietnam, with countless hairpin turns and “divine” viewpoints at the sky gate.

· First stop is the observatory overlooking the entire Yên Minh district, perched on top of the large mountain range – where yesterday afternoon you watched the sun slowly retreat behind the ridges.
With major Ha Giang Loop passes like Cán Tỷ, if lucky, you will witness a magical weather phenomenon: the sky gate like a clear boundary, one side thick fog, wet and cold, while the other side bright golden sunshine, making the grass and trees burst with life in warmth.

· Ride along the lush green river lazily flowing through the valley. Flat road, almost no traffic, both sides grass carpets, fields, sugarcane fields, and prehistoric-colored riverbanks. Gentle morning sun mixed with river breeze blowing your hair – what could be better to shake off fatigue after 3 days of all terrains and emotions on Ha Giang Loop?

12:00 PM Delicious lunch ready waiting for those hungry stomachs. Diverse menu beautifully presented, tempting enough that you can’t resist taking a few final journey photos.

  • In the middle of old-growth forest, a large waterfall pouring down from the cliff creating a wide, cool pool. Stop, chill a bit, relax your body – the divine Ha Giang Loop journey with Horizon is about to end!
    · Jagged sawtooth mountain range rising majestically in afternoon sun, mixed with thin mist and the winding river far away. Even as the trip nears its end, Hà Giang still holds you back with epic scenes reminiscent of the world in The Lord of the Rings
  • 16:30 Complete the Crazy & Unforgettable Journey in Hà Giang City. Free shower & towel before boarding your bus to the next destination, guys.

  • If you chose the package including drop-off to Hanoi/Ninh Bình/Ha Long/Cat Ba/Sapa, the bus will pick you up from here between 19:00 – 22:00. The bus arrives in those cities early the next morning.
  • From Hà Giang to Hanoi and Sapa, there are both Limousine and Cabin buses departing early in the morning.

“Alright guys, our crew has completed the Ha Giang Loop safely and full of joy!
We’ve survived successfully!
Safety first, just like we always boast about our risk control skills rivaling Durex! You guys have experienced it firsthand!

I’m sure you’ve taken hundreds of amazing photos from this unforgettable trip. We feel so happy because despite limited time, you still chose to come hang out with Horizon. We’re family, a real gang!

So what are you waiting for? Go give our drivers a big, warm hug to thank them for their dedication and hard work throughout the journey! Let’s say goodbye to the new friends and local friends who accompanied us through 4 epic days, through white clouds, pale sunlight, precarious on mountain peaks, immersing in pure cool streams. Give each other tight hugs and raise a glass of happy water, guys!

Never forget us like the way you forget your ex-girlfriend! Don’t cry for me, Argentina! We will meet again on some pirate-style treasure hunt adventure out on the distant Somali seas or the Atlantic Ocean, remember that!
Love you, my crew.”
